Leica users are a hardy lot, able to overcome such problems to get the shot, in many cases. This would be reason enough for me, and I bet for a lot of other people, to trade in my otherwise lovely M6TTL for either an MP or a later M7. Use an M6 and a Bessa back to back in order to perceive how really pathetic this is. Personally, I would be afraid to use my M6 for any real professional use for fear of missing focus under pressure or getting distracted from the shoot by trying to make out the rangefinder image, which is dim and low contrast even under ideal lighting conditions, and constantly pops in and out of view if there are any strong light sources anywhere around. It is a serious defect of Leica finders and is obvious to anyone who actually shoots and has used anything else, for example the humble Bessa, which does not suffer from this irritating problem. I'm not sure it's wise to reopen this topic which has been beat to death on this forum, but the flare problem is NOT a question of centering the eye (though it's even worse if the eye is not perfectly centered) and it is NOT a fantasy of Leica fondlers.
